Org Change - Nothing more than a GOOD communication plan?

If I've heard it once I've heard it a thousand times, "ALL organizational change is - - - is a good communication plan!"

Even if that were true, let's step back and think about it for a moment. What is a communication plan? PMI teaches us that we have to:

1) Define our audience(s).

2) Determine our communication purpose and objectives.

3) Define the content, medium, frequency, and owner of the communication.

But, how do people normally get information in an organization? How do YOU find out what's really going on in your workplace?
